This is a knockout of a recording technically; while the regular CD sounds fine, the SACD stereo version is even fine—and the multi-channel version extraordinary indeed. This is the complete score of this sprawling Russian masterpiece which, because of brisk tempi, clocks in at only 72:20.  For more comments on the performance and sound, see REVIEW.

BUY NOW FROM ARKIVMUSIC A  very beautiful recording indeed, with the warm sound of the harp supernaturally close and big.  One is immersed in the sonic picture - multi-channel (5 instead of Telarc's usual 5.1) really seems like overkill to reproduce this instrument.  A debit is the short playing time (55:29); surely Ms. Kondonassis could provide a longer program for a full-priced CD.
